FATAL ATTRACTION at Kenya National Theatre 20-22 Sept

https://www.facebook.com/events/564058693657309/?notif_t=plan_user_joined
September 20 at 6:00pm until September 23 at 12:30pm
FATAL ATTRACTION 20-22 September at Kenya National Theatre Friday 20 Sept. @ 6 & 8pm, Sat 21 Sept. @ 3 & 6pm, Sun 22 Sept. @ 3 & 6pm Festival of Creative Arts is back with “FATAL ATTRACTION”, hilarious thriller comedy @ Kenya National Theatre. This play is an exciting thriller also designed to provide an evening of hysterical comedy! Max Kebaya (played by Godfrey Odhiambo, last seen in FCA's 'Will you still Love Her in the Morning?'), a seemingly mild-mannered gentleman who, through the course of the play, will attempt several murders, drug potential witnesses, and lie to everyone he comes in contact with. Yet while Max may be a monster, it's pretty apparent that Godfrey Odhiambo himself is just about the best friend a moderately funny comedic thriller could ask for. Godfrey has a charming, self-effacing quality and exudes a natural innocence that takes a lot of the sting out of his character's hatefulness; he is huggable adulterer-killer! Bilal Mwaura Nganga (last seen in FCA's 'Will you still Love Her in the Morning?' and previously in FCA's memorable plays this year: 'Birthday Suite', 'Dirty Sexy Money' and 'Catch me if you Can') performs his purely functional role as a hard-drinking mystery writer, Edgar Bundi, with agreeable nonchalance - this author has obviously seen it all and done it all - and Ciku Mbithi (last seen in FCA's 'Will you still Love Her in the Morning?'), as Max's wife (Janet Kebaya), provides an amusingly dizzy plunge. Veronica Waceke (last seen in FCA's 'Dirty Sexy Money') as Max's girlfriend, Suzy, plays her twitter-brain role to perfection, remaining focused and sensible in the part. Marrianne Nungo, as a distant relation to Max's wife, and Joe Kinyua, as her henpecked husband, play squabbling marrieds (Mary and George Mwachola, respectively) with zeal. Maryanne's role as Mary fits in well with the actress' down-to-earth readings and presence (employed so well in FCA's recent Will you still Love her in the Morning?). Joe returns to FCA's stage after a long break and employs all his energy in creating a very hilarious George, an extremely subdued and controlled husband at the mercy of his wife. As usual with all the FCA productions, high quality entertainment is guaranteed. Tickets are going for 500 bob but there is an offer on advance tic of 400/= a ticket till Monday, September 16. Bookings have begun. Tickets may be purchased through Mpesa or directly from Assanand’s Music Shop, situated on 1st floor, 8 to 8 Shopping Mall on Moi Avenue, next to Jazz Bar or from Alliance Francaise reception and at the Kenya National Theatre Box Office. NO DINNER FOR SINNERS

No Dinner for Sinners!
A FESTIVAL OF CREATIVE ARTS PRODUCTION @ ALLIANCE FRANCAISE
30 SEPT-2 OCT FRI 30 AT 6:30 SAT & SUN AT 3 & 6:30PM

Extremely hilarious comedy No Dinner for Sinners charts a hectic Satur-day in the life of a good-looking stockbroker, Jim, Kenya manager for INVESTCO Stockbrokers Ltd, a subsidiary of INVESTCO Plc, a big UK In-vestment company. INVESTCO Stockbrokers Ltd is listed as a brokerage firm on the Nairobi Stock Exchange.

Tonight Bill, the UK head of his firm is coming to dinner in Jim’s smart Nairobi flat. And Bill is an in-tolerant puritan, President of Mor-al Outrage, and steadfastly op-posed to the Permissive Society. He expects all his staff to be respecta-bly married.
Bachelor Jim had assumed that Helen, his glamorous live-in lover would pose as his wife. But after some romantic disagreement at breakfast, Helen announces she’s leaving him. She’s off on a model-ling job and won’t be back.
To keep his job, Jim must find a wife for the evening. But where? His dating book is out of date, and all his old girl friends seem to have married or emigrated. His devoted secretary Terri would do it. But she has a dress rehearsal for a leading role with her amateur players.
In desperation Jim recruits his cleaning lady, Edna, who’ll do any-thing for money and quite a lot for small change. At least she’ll know how to cook the dinners.
Then just as the Bill and his wife, Nancy, arrive, some ladies change their minds, as ladies do. And sud-denly, instead of no wife at all, Jim has three, all needing to be kept apart, and explained away to the belligerent Bill.
And in the kitchen, things are go-ing alarmingly wrong …
This humorous play by Festival of Creative Arts (FCA) is directed by Mbeki Mwalimu and is produced by Abuto Eliud.
